Listen, we’re working with 1200 pound toddlers here, and yes, they usually act like it on shoot day.
The best shots? They’re caught in between a dozen other moments of chaos; shaking heads, sleepy faces, ears pointed at literally anything but the camera, all the unpredictable moments that happen when working with animals or kiddos.
I always bring an assistant to every horse & rider portrait session to help keep their attention while I focus on working with you directly.
I also recommend having a trusted friend or barn helper on hand to wrangle, especially if you’re in a dress, boots that aren’t barn-friendly, or anything that makes moving around tricky.
Many hands makes light work. That way your horse stays attentive in the shots, you stay clean, and I can focus on capturing the moment. -
Chances are you’ve caught my mouthy side somewhere online… but don’t worry, I tone it down for family-friendly sessions.
Many of my equestrian clients are minors, and I adjust my vibe so Grandma can enjoy the session too!
On the other side of things, I bring professionalism without boring, awkward energy. Most people don’t spend a lot of time in front of the camera, so I make sure it’s fun, easy, and you genuinely have a good time, because you’ll get to see it in the final result of the images.
I show up on time, prepared, and with a plan, but I’m not going to make you stand in awkward poses or expect your horse to be a statue.
You’ll get clear direction when it matters and patience when things get fussy and we need to adjust the plan.
My goal is to make your experience natural, fun, easy, all while capturing photos that are timeless, meaningful, and honestly way better than you could have imagined. -
